Every 66 seconds another Baby Boomer develops Alzheimer’s or Dementia. I am seeing Alzheimer’s and Dementia at my office at an alarming rate in younger people. Let’s do a count down and take action on what we have control to implement in our lives.

7) Environmental Toxins
Aluminum is a major toxin. The most cost-effective and easy to cut out. The key is to avoid “chronic” aluminum exposure in your diet (white rice), body care products (deodorant) and cookware.
6) Vit B12 deficiency
One in four adults in the United States is B12 deficient, B12 deficiency could potentially be a dangerous health condition that can lead to neurological damage.
5) Emotional traumas
Science now is documenting how our cells retain the memory of negative traumatic childhood experiences and how genes will carry it, and manifest physically.
– Do an inventory of your emotional life. Be the one who ends the curse. Emotional trauma in childhood is the most underexposed risk factor for all chronic complex illnesses today. Whatever happened in your childhood if it doesn’t get resolved you will carry that.

– Listen to your body, deal with the past
– Choose positive thoughts
– Surround yourself with positive loving people.

4) Electromagnetic Frequencies
Each of our cells have electrical charges. Electric fields can affect electrical communication in your body, such as your brainwaves, or the ability of your neurons to fire and communicate. It can also impede inter-cell communication anywhere in your body. Health problems that can manifest as a result of this type of exposure include neurological – and behavioral changes, altered cell growth, cell mutations, chronic fatigue. Look out for sources of EMF, my favorites to turn off are wifi, cell phone, home phone, and smart appliances and meters.
3) Lack of sleep
Poor sleep or lack of sleep leads to an increased risk of ADD. Why? Because your brain’s waste removal system only operates during deep sleep. Most people do not get the recommended eight hours of deep sleep each night that they need to regenerate their bodies. This makes it very hard to stay physically, emotionally, and mentally healthy. Relax at sundown, go to sleep early so you wake up at sunrise.
2) Lack of exercise
Cardiovascular fitness will decrease your dementia risk because exercise increases levels of the protein PGC-1alpha, which is responsible for improving mitochondrial bio-genesis and regenerating the blood flow and oxygen flow in your brain and heart. Start slow by walking more, aerobics, cardio, biking, spinning, join a gym, work out at least 30 mins per day. Try a dance class or Zumba class. Have fun!
1) Oral Health
Last but most important considering the proximity to our brains, Oral Health. If you have heavy metals, mercury, inflammation, and infection in your gums, root canals in your mouth – remove them properly by a biological dentist. This should be your first step of action if you haven’t taken care of it already. Why? Old fillings and restorations have dangerous neurotoxins that are harboring infection and could be the source of your health issues. So many times in my office I see patients with a mouth full of mercury fillings and many health and emotional issues, but once they begin detoxing from heavy metals and start the very specific protocols they need to do they get better. You can prevent getting neurological diseases down the road by removing all the amalgam fillings, porcelain fused to metal crowns, heavy metals, aluminum and toxins in your mouth. It is illogical to do liver, gallbladder, kidney, colon cleanses and detox protocols before you get toxins out of your mouth that are the root cause of your health issues. Lets clean up the mess and then detoxify your body after, otherwise you will be pulling these neurotoxins into your different organs, bloodstream and become sicker.
