Benefits of Moringa

Posted On November 25, 2019 at 11:25 am by / No Comments

One of my favorite trees is the beautiful Moringa tree.

7 years ago I had my wonderful friend Donna plant it in my backyard along with many other amazing trees (more on that in another post to come!).

Moringa is called the Tree of Life. Donna told me if there is a famine you can survive with this tree. The tiny leaves contain 22 amino-acids, it repairs the cell lining of our gut and intestines, is anticancer, the seed can be used to kill bacteria and purify water, it has a hundred uses.

I never heard of it and it has become a blessing. We have friends that now have part of the tree in their homes. If you want to try it you can buy it in powder form for a smoothie, dried leaves for a tea, or in an oil to apply topically to your skin.

According to Dr. Axe: Moringa is an excellent source of protein, vitamin A, potassium, calcium and vitamin C. Just how strong is moringa? According to Kuli Kuli, an organization that harvests moringa plants in Africa and makes them accessible to customers in the the U.S. and other western nations, gram for gram, moringa contains:

two times the amount of protein of yogurt

four times the amount of vitamin A as carrots

three times the amount of potassium as bananas

four times the amount of calcium as cows’ milk

seven times the amount of vitamin C as oranges
