My Path to Dental Wellness

After experiencing a great amount of stress, migraines, vertigo and sinus issues in my own life, I realized that I needed to restore my health and get back on the path to wellness. My journey to gather the necessary tools to help manage and respond differently to my stressors was crucial. I began letting go of the stress and living my life to the fullest. With that, I also realized my dream of becoming a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. Now I knew for a fact that one must fuel their body with non-processed, organic and non-GMO (genetically modified organism) foods so that their immune system could function optimally. And I knew that a compromised immune system needed the right nutrients to eliminate many toxins. During this time, I found myself with constant pain in one of my teeth. Having just relocated to the east coast of Florida, I needed to find a new dentist. Armed with my newfound health coaching knowledge, I sought out a dentist with a holistic and biological approach. That’s when I found The International Center for Dental Excellence, in Fort Lauderdale, the office of Yolanda Cintron, D.M.D. and her team. To my surprise, what I assumed was going to be a simple initial consultation resulted in an emergency extraction of an infected root canal. This infection was so severe, it was in my sinus cavity and was headed upward towards my brain. This was more serious than I could ever have imagined! After Dr. Cintron explained the severity of my situation, she offered to do the surgery right there and then without any hesitation. So, my healing had begun!

Dr. Cintron and her team performed extensive dental work with plasma rich growth factors they took from my blood. This was a new technique to me and with amazing results! Since then, I have had two other infected root canals extracted along with some amalgam (mercury) filling removals. Before this incident, I was a firm believer that with a healthy immune system comes optimal health— never did I consider my teeth to be a factor. After doing a bit of research on my own, I have come to the understanding that it really begins with the condition of your teeth and gums. So, along with this new knowledge, I have added an “oral history” to my new clients’ initial consultation package, all thanks to Dr. Cintron. Unhealthy teeth and gums are the most detrimental factors in reaching optimal health. I realize that a healthier diet and a change in lifestyle will bring complete balance to your mind, body and spirit. But the meridian relationship connecting your teeth and body will significantly affect the health of your entire being. I would highly recommend Dr. Cintron and her team for any of your dental needs. Her knowledge and holistic and biological approach to dentistry is outstanding. She is the very best out there! I am pleased to announce that since my procedures were performed, the frequency and intensity of my symptoms have substantially reduced which has left me with a much better quality of life. As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, my goal is to raise health and happiness levels by implementing proper nutrition along with a positive mental outlook. My unique approach to health coaching includes my clients’ health and dental history. The tie between nutrition and oral health is significant and closely linked, and if not in optimal condition, can be detrimental to your overall health.
